As a touring production manager over the last 20 years i too struggled with the kabuki fear. Not knowing if a solenoid pin would stick and not release properly... Positioning 10 stagehands across the downstage edge with instructions to PULL if the drop didnt fall on cue... Velcro webbing separating on a corner with the drop limply hanging as the crew look on helplessly... So about 4 years ago i began experimenting with electromagnets and developing a system that would avoid depending on mechanically moving parts. Over the last few years trial and error have brought me to the MRT2. With a US patent in the works, the MRT2 system is on the road and hopefully resulting in a long awaited sigh of relief when it comes to show reveals.
